Since this forum seems primarily leaned to the right and we seem to have a strong Christian membership, I have to ask:

Who here truly believes in Intelligent Design (Creationism).

You know, the earth is only 6,000 yrs old, there was no such thing as evolution.

God put man directly on this planet in his present form.

I believe that God and God alone created the universe and all thing in it as is stated in Genesis

I cannot find evidence as to the actual age of the earth in years as we define it. I do not have an understanding of time as it may be to God.

I do believe that evolution exists inside of His creation as part of His creation.

I believe that God created man "in his own image" just as it is stated in Genesis.

I have a quote that I like to refer to that puts things in perspective:

" The probability of life being the result of an accident is about the same as the probability of the unabridged dictionary being the result of an explosion in a print shop."

I really do not understand how one with reasonable intelligence can look at the complex order of things in our world and believe that it just happened because all the right things came together. IMHO it takes much more faith to believe that than God as our creator.

on a dark clear night walk out and look up at the stars and ask yourself are we the only intellegient life ANYWHERE? would have to have a pretty big ego and think alot of ourselves to answer yes to that

I received this e-mail.  Sort of says a lot.

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him,
"Lord, we don't need  you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing.  In other words, we can now do what you did in the  'beginning'."
"Oh, is that so?  Tell me..." replies God.
"Well", says the scientist, "we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breathe life into it, thus creating man."
"Well, that's interesting. Show Me. "
So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.
"Oh no, no, no..." interrupts God. (and I love this...) "Get your own dirt."

When it comes to the vastness of the universe, I have no ego at all. I am completely humbled by the sheer magnitude of the creation. I respect everyone's right to believe as they will, but I can find no evidence to suggest that there is more than one God.

And who is to say God only created us?  The Bible says that we are his favorites, but not his only.  And when the aliens land I will stick my tongue out and go na na na na boo boo - God likes US better. Tongue

Very well said papa.

One of my favorites quotes i've got was off of 1 of my forums i go to.It was a discussion between a believer and a non-believer.

Funny thing is, you will go to your grave trying to give me evidence that
a God doesnt exist. And while you waste your time looking for that
evidence I will have marveled at a million things that I would explain
as God having to do something with it. Now, tell me. Who had better use
of their time here on Earth?--Spanishshark

I enjoy reading from Dr. Hugh Ross on occassion.

The debate goes on for the OEC and YEC crowd, to me it doesn't really matter the age of the earth or universe. What matters is we are here now. Rather than get into the Micro/Macro discussion, I believe most know or could guess my position based upon my username.

Defining the Imago Dei (ID) has been difficult, some have approached it and have attempted to build upon this principle, but there is still much work not performed in this area. If one truly holds the Imago Dei view, it would be most difficult to look negatively upon people. I understand some people may be easier than others to reconcile, and there are other people that are much more difficult to fit into that mold concerning (ID).  This becomes more prominent regarding Genesis chapter 6, but interestingly enough God did find favor with Noah and his family, and a few others along the way.

And all those cave drawings that are twenty to thirty thousand years old???
