So far, there are at least three county wide tax levies proposed:  the library, the JVS, and the park district.

Where does this end?  Some of these things are good, but most of us are not getting pay raises to cover this stuff!

Thats three No votes from me. If the parks need money then put a pay as you enter gate on them.

Probably for me also.

1.  Library, no - just don't use anymore because of the internet.
2.  JVS, no - they denied my son admission to the school.
3.  Parks, maybe - i do like to walk my dog through them.

My issue with 1 is it is not local.
2- fair enough reason, but what was their reason?
3- which parks? The county ones or the city ones?

1. Library -- No! I have made my thoughts on Library's usefulness very clear. Also it's in Troy which i really don't care about.

2. JVS -- not sure, how much are they asking for? But i would have to lean No right now.

3. Parks -- No. but like Nick asked...which parks are we talking about here?

2.  JVS - my son was denied admission i believe because of his disabilty.  No matter which program was proposed, they raised concerns, i.e, "he could be electrocuted," "climbing required," etc.  The only one the would let him in was hospitality.  He ended up graduating from the CTC in Montgomery Cty last spring.

3.  I use the bike trails and Duke Park, whoever pays for that.

I never go to the Troy library,I live in Piqua
They keep taking away from Fountain Park (pool)
They will tell us JVS is a renewal.won't cost us a thing more.
You know I can't wait to pay off my house, so I have more money in my pocket. If my car gets paid off I never have called the bank and said "you know I've been paying this so long now,you can just keep getting this payment from me"After all it would just be a renewal right? Won't cost me any extra.Right now with the economy the way it is,I'm voting no across the board.
Didn't I read some where that PCS is going to put a renewal levy on also?

Duke is troy, I believe, and the bike trails in a mix between county and a regional thing out of Dayton, as you may have seen, the trail now is marked as part of the route 25 trail.

I am sorry your son was denied. I attened UVJVS in the Industrial Electronics progam in the mid-80's. William Marker was one of the greatest teachers I ever had, he made math a breeze with his methodology. Anyone can be electrocuted I have seen many videos on arc flash, it can happen to anyone without proper PPE. I no longer climb ladders due to my condition.

I will most likely vote no on all three this time out. Last time I did vote for the school levy (always vote yes). As much as I like the new library I don't use it much since I get online access to my University. JVS is a good program but money is tight for me this year. The parks I don't frequent in Piqua.

Don't forget, the levy isn't for our New library, it's for the one in Troy, that they want all of us in the county to pay for.

If wonder if it fails and they attempt again, if we could get a referendum going to disavow the Troy Library, and get it in our charter that we will never pay for the county library.

Who in their right mind would vote themselves more taxes in light of everything going on?HuhHuhHuh? Just wait until this stimulus package works its way through, we will all be really hurting then. Not to mention what will happen if they get Obamacare and cap and tax through. I think we are all just better off waiting things out right now.

Not a good financial move to see bad things on the horizon and go ahead and charge the credit card to the max.

Ahh I have never been to that one, so NO.

Here is an idea... water for books. Troy supplies our water, and we supply them the books. Much better than the food for oil program of the UN, IMO.
